Step back into the glamour and drama of 1950s Charleston with The Charleston Charm Society, the latest southern comedy musical from Peachtree Players. Filled with humor, heart, and plenty of Southern charm, this entertaining production promises an unforgettable night at the theater.
In 1950s Charleston, no female social club is more exclusive than The Charleston Charm Society. In addition to their annual philanthropic endeavors and elegant social events, nothing is more important than the prestigious Charleston Debutante Ball.
This year, however, things are anything but ordinary. Harriet is preparing for both of her daughters to be presented at the ball while also being responsible for planning the event itself. Just when everything seems to be under control, chaos begins to unfold. A famous starlet returns to town, debutante escorts mysteriously disappear, one of the Charm Society members is sporting a black eye, and rehearsals for the Great Gatsby-themed Charity Variety Show are falling apart.
To make matters even more complicated, tensions rise when newly wealthy Fay is inducted into the exclusive club against the wishes of longtime member Edwina, who believes the society is “going to the dogs.”
